Restaurant Manager, Chef and two Cooks

Virsa Fine Indian Cuisine is an Indian Fine Dining restaurant located at 5677 Victoria Avenue in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The restaurant opened in June 2016 and specializes in authentic Indian cuisine (North Indian, Punjab, Mughlai, Hakka style).

The restaurant is seeking to hire a Restaurant Manager. This is a full time, permanent position for 30-40 hours per week. The wage is $24.25 per hour. Completion of relevant college education is required. Minimum 3 years experience.

Job duties are described below:
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a restaurant
• Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
• Recruit staff and oversee staff training
• Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
• Control inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices
• Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
• Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
• Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.

The restaurant is seeking to hire a Chef specializing in Indian cuisine. This is a full time, permanent position for 30-40 hours per week. The wage is $25.00 per hour. Completion of secondary school is required along with a minimum five years experience or equivalent in education. Knowledge of Indian cuisine is an asset.

Job duties are described below:
• Prepare and cook complete meals or specialty foods, such as pastries, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables and meat, poultry and fish dishes, and create decorative food displays for special events such as banquets
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
• Create new recipes
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
• May plan menus
• May requisition food and kitchen supplies

The restaurant is seeking to hire a two Cooks. This is a full time, permanent position for 30-40 hours per week. The wage is $24.25 per hour. Completion of secondary education required along with a minimum two years experience. Knowledge of Indian cuisine is an asset.

Job duties are described below:
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
• Oversee kitchen operations
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• May set up and oversee buffets
• May clean kitchen and work area
• May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• May hire and train kitchen staff.
